Writing a Counter Argument Essay Format
The counter argument essay format is one of the most popular essay formats used by writers, professors and teachers. This form helps a writer to successfully and correctly argue for his or her point of view in a persuasive manner.
The arguments that an essay should contain should be grammatically correct and readable. An argument must not be built upon a lie, nor a flimsy foundation, but rather should be based on facts, data and logic. There are two main styles for writing counter argument essays, a direct and indirect style.
Direct Argument: In a direct argument, the argument is stated in a straightforward manner, without the fluff, and with simple words, and therefore does not cause confusion. In a direct argument, it is emphasized that the writer states his/her opinion first, then goes on to state the facts and circumstances to support that opinion.
